Deep inside the candy factory of Gumbug, Inc., four sour gummy kids live a pretty sweet life as Gumbug, Inc.'s bestselling candy brand—and the most popular in the world.

There's Tyke, the popular cherry. Cosmo, the brainy lime. Lorelei, the sassy lemon. And Tangi, the tangerine who can't stop wondering about something the others would rather forget.

Do they have parents like human kids?

Tangi thinks so. To her, it makes sense that if they are called “The Sourland Tykes”, then Sourland must be real. The others think she's being ridiculous and want her to appreciate being created by the Master Confectioner, Lord Gumbug, and accept her life in the factory.

But Tangi can't shake the nagging feeling that Sourland is real and that maybe her parents are waiting for her there.
